Every poll asks people what they think about a given issue. But what happens when you compare what people think, with what people ASSUME other people think? And how does knowing the difference between those two numbers impact how we should approach each issue? We explored views on 3 issues and found that Americans are changing their opinions to conform to their expectations about where other people stand, underscoring the need to leverage “social proof” in messaging.
